Tenax's chemical name is poly(2,6-diphenyl-p-phenylene ether), a polymer linear polymer originally synthesized by the AKZO laboratory in the Netherlands and registered as Tenax® by Buchem B.V. of the Netherlands. Tenax series products have been developed for three generations, Tenax GC, Tenax TA and Tenax GR. Tenax GC is the first generation product, originally developed as a column packing material, and its application range has been expanded to collect samples and enrich samples. As the research progresses, the Tenax GC is gradually replaced by the new generation product Tenax TA.
